Fender Misc.

Fender misc. is not big category. It includes guitar cases , guitar straps . guitar literature , promotional items and any special items that were part of special issue guitars.

Fender case candy as it is known refers to nay guitar tags booklets straps case keys and vintage strings that are found in the case pocket and were part of the original owners purchase.

 These items incredible as it may seem add a tremendous value to instrument and to the collector. If an original receipt is found this is the holy grail of the case candy items. This add  providence to the guitar and a glimpse of its origin .

Fender guitar cases themselves are very collectible. The original Fender Boradcaster  Fender Nocaster  and Fender Telecaster cases known as thermometer case some call them poodle cases are thousands of dollars. Without these cases the value of the guitars are  significantly less. T

hen fender introduced in 1954 the fender form fit case for Fender Stratocasters. By late 1954 they rectangle tweed case which most are familiar with was introduced. The first version of this case used form 1954-1955 had a center pocket. In 1956 the tweed case  a side offset compartment which is still in use today.

In late 1959 Fender introduced a brown tolex case for Fender Stratocasters and Fender Telecaster and Fender Jaazmasters. these continued for 3 years and in 1964 Fender introduced a white tolex case which was used for a year and a half.

 In 1964 fender changed to a black tolex no logo case and remained this was until 1965 . In 1966 Fender introduced a black case  with a raised Fender logo in lower right hand corner.

Fender promotional items are also a favorite of collectors. Fender banners , posters , postcards, price lists and so on are sought after and add a value to either their collection or the guitar itself. Look close because there are many repros out there. Usually Fender literature has a date on it .
